Welcome to the Hackmeeting's Wiki

hack your mind

A hackmeeting is a free and auto-organized get-together that deals with new technologies, their social implications, the free distribution of knowledge and techniques, privacy, and much more. It is also a feature of this event that there is no distinction between those who organize and those who help.

Experience your freedom - participate!

The hackmeetings are auto-organized/-disorganized events where we socialize and exchange experiences of every kind. It's NOT a party; there are neither organisators nor guests, it's open to anyone who wants to participate; it's dynamic by definition. Each place that hosts a hackmeeting hosts it in a unique way and there are many ways to "live" and conceive a hackmeeting.

They consist of presentations, workshops, round tables, and other activities; all this is based on the philosophy of open source and the free distribution of knowledge. But also the defence of cyber-rights, creativity and the implications of technologies in social movements have an important place in these meetings.

The hackmeeting is co-ordinated, discussed and organized by: this wiki, that you are reading right now, which we will continue to update; a mailing list and an IRC channel (#hackmeeting) on irc.freenode.org.

If you want to participate please read the help-section and subscribe to the mailing list which forms the open meeting to organize this gathering.
