12th PRESS NOTIFICATION (21-6-2003)
DEMONSTRATION IN AGOITZ Today Saturday , the demonstration called by Solidaries with Itoitz and the Platform of neighbours affected by the dam , was celebreted. Around 4000 people took part in it.People from very different parts of the Basque country and the Spanish Estate.Among the collectives present were "Ekologistak Martxan ", "COAGRET"(coordinator of affected by big dams and water transfers), "Assembly against enlargening Yesa's dam","Defence of the Pyrenees ",etc. The demonstration went on in a festive atmosphere , even though threre had been Civil Guard road controls that forced the demo to start later in a totally police taken town with even a helicopter. After hearing what the orginizers read at the end there was an opportunity to hear the paricipation of one of Itoitz' s neighbours who had resisted the eviction. We remind that the struggle against the dam goes on and we encourage everyone to take part in the demonstration that will take place next Sunday 29th at 12 at midday from Pamplona's bus station.
